ClearCut
Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 May 2026
The short version
ClearCut does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. The app has no servers and makes no network connections. Everything, including removing backgrounds from your photos, happens on your device.
Photos and camera
ClearCut works with your photos for one purpose: to remove their backgrounds and let you edit them. When you choose a photo from your library or take one with the camera, it is processed entirely on your device to detect and cut out subjects. Your photos are never uploaded, recorded, or sent anywhere. ClearCut only accesses the specific photos you select, and any image you save or export stays on your device and goes only where you choose to put it.
What we collect
Nothing. ClearCut does not ask for your name, email, or any personal information, and it does not create a profile of you or your device. Your projects and any settings you change are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.
Purchases
ClearCut is free for a 3-day trial. After that, you can unlock it permanently with a single one-time purchase. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, so we never see or store your payment details. Apple's processing of that transaction is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We may receive anonymous, aggregate sales figures from Apple, which do not identify you.
Sharing
Because we collect no data, there is nothing to sell, rent, or share with third parties, and we don't.
Children's privacy
ClearCut is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, we'll update this page and revise the date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
