NoiseCheck
Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 May 2026
The short version
NoiseCheck does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. The app has no servers and makes no network connections. Everything happens on your device.
Microphone
NoiseCheck uses your device's microphone for one purpose: to measure the ambient sound level around you in real time and show it as a decibel reading. The audio is processed on your device, moment to moment, only to calculate that level, and it is never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. Nothing from the microphone leaves your device, and nothing is retained after a reading is taken.
What we collect
Nothing. NoiseCheck does not ask for your name, email, or any personal information, and it does not create a profile of you or your device. Any settings you change (such as the calibration offset) are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.
Purchases
NoiseCheck is free for a 3-day trial. After that, you can unlock it permanently with a single one-time purchase. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, so we never see or store your payment details. Apple's processing of that transaction is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We may receive anonymous, aggregate sales figures from Apple, which do not identify you.
Sharing
Because we collect no data, there is nothing to sell, rent, or share with third parties, and we don't.
Children's privacy
NoiseCheck is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, we'll update this page and revise the date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
